We at American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico, A.C. (AmCham) recognize the importance of protecting the privacy of certain information (“Personal Information”) gathered from our members, prospects, candidates and applicants for United States business visas in our three offices located in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey.
Our intention at AmCham is to make the way in which we gather your data and how we use them for the realization of our daily activities understood.
Personal Data that We Obtain:
1.-Members and Prospects
The information that AmCham collects includes complete name, company e-mail address, telephone and fax number, and the complete address of the company. As required, we collect the credit card data of some of our members' executives who make a payment through this mode.
2.-AmCham Job Bank Candidates
AmCham has a Job Bank area. The personal data we collect from the candidates are the data included in the candidate’s curriculum vitae/resume.
3.-Business Visa Applicants
Through AmCham’s visas area, we obtain personal data of executives who need to make business trips to the United States and the data that the Embassy requires to assess their authorization.
4.-Trade&InvestCenter
At the Trade&InvestCenter we obtain personal data of AmCham ‘s members and non-members in search of commercial and business opportunities in the United States and Mexico.
Use of Personal Data:
1.-Members and Prospects:
Annual development and updating of the Chamber’s Membership Directory, electronic mailings with information about the organization events and committees, news of interest, mailings of AmCham’s electronic publications such as AmCham Eagle and Charting the Economy.
At your request, your personal or business credit card data will be collected to pay event passes, breakfasts and/or conferences organized by AmCham for its members.
2.-Candidates
AmCham collects the personal data that is included in curriculum vitaes/resumes with the objective of publishing them on our website so that members with available openings can consult them and contact the candidate in the case that their profile fits the requirements of the position(s).
3.-Business Visa Applicants
Your personal information is transferred to the United States Embassy with the sole purpose of processing or renewing your business visa application. The accuracy of the information is your own responsibility. The decision to grant the visa is solely and exclusively that of the United States Embassy in Mexico or the Guadalajara or Monterrey Consulates.
4.-Trade&InvestCenter Users
As part of this area’s service, the personal information that AmCham obtains from members and non-members can be transferred for the obtainment of client and/or supplier information that is requested from us both in Mexico and the United States.
AmCham uses all this personal data information with the sole objective of giving a value-added service to our members. Upon receiving this information, AmCham uses industrial standard efforts, such as firewalls and secure connections, to safeguard the confidentiality of the information. However, “perfect security” does not exist on the Internet.
Be certain that AmCham will not reveal personal information that has been collected by the Chamber to third-parties without authorization.
